Restore Scuffed or Faded Suede Boots
Clean, revive texture and color, and protect suede boots to bring them back to a solid condition.
What you need
- Soft-bristle brush or suede brush (brass or crepe)
- Saphir Omni'Nettoyant
- Newspaper
- Saphir Médaille d'Or Renovateur Spray or suede color restorer spray
- Suede protector spray
- Saphir Plant-Based Cleaner
- Saphir Sole Guard

Steps
- Brush off surface dirt with a soft-bristle or suede brush. For a deep clean, apply Saphir Omni'Nettoyant, rinse gently with water, and stuff the boots with newspaper. Let them dry overnight naturally. Always test cleaning products on a small, hidden area first.
- Brush the suede to lift the nap. Apply Saphir Médaille d'Or Renovateur Spray or a color restorer spray to faded areas. Test the color spray in a hidden spot before full application.
- Apply a suede protector spray. Clean outsole edges with Saphir Plant-Based Cleaner, then apply Saphir Sole Guard to soften the leather and add moisture resistance.
Why it works
Why brush?
Brushing lifts the nap and removes dirt without damaging the suede texture.
Why revive color?
Restoring color brings faded areas back to a solid look and improves the overall texture.

Why protect?
Protector sprays create a barrier against water and stains, helping the boots last longer.

If it goes wrong
Suede feels stiff after drying.
This can happen if suede gets too wet or dries too fast. Use water sparingly and allow slow drying to avoid this.
Color looks patchy.
Apply color restorer in thin layers and test on a hidden area first to ensure an even finish.
